FUNK Of 109 Twenty-third avenue, died yesterday noon after an extended illness. He was born April 5, 1881, in Altoona, a son of Blair and Anna Mary (Cherry) Funk, and retired in 1946 as a yard engineer after 46 years of service. His first wife, Rosa May Burley, died in 1945. Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Helen (Smith) Funk, whom he married in 1957; four children, Blair, at whose home he died, Edward B. and Mrs. Earl Fetter of the city; Louis H. of Finley, O., a step-daughter, Mrs. Martha Nicodemus of the city; eight grandchildren, one great- grandchild, two brothers and one sister, Elmer E. and Charles M. of the city and Mrs. Emma Masterson of Seattle, Wash. Mr. Funk was a member of the Fourth Street Church of God and a past president and local chairman of lodge 278, B. of L.F.E. Friends are being received at the Mauk & Yates funeral home, Juniata, until 10 o'clock tomorrow morning and thereafter at the church. Altoona Mirror, April 5, 1957
