Funeral services at his late home tomorrow afternoon at 2 o'clock, will be conducted by Rev. R. H. Gilbert. Interment in Birmingham cemetery. Mr. Funk was the son of Henry and Mary Funk, early pioneers in this section, was born near Huntingdon Furnace, December 4, 1830, and at death was aged 62 years, 4 months, and 11 days. He leaves to mourn their loss his wife, Eliza, two daughters and one son, viz: Mrs. Adeline Keefer, of near Birmingham; Mrs. Clara Atlee, of Sinking Valley and Blair, who had his home with his father; also his mother, three sisters and four brothers, his mother Mary Funk whose home is at Coleman's Mills; Mrs. Susan Smith, who makes her home with her mother; Mrs. Eliza Hagerty, of Altoona and Mrs. John M. Smith of this town; James P., of Philadelphia, David of Altoona, Blair of Altoona and Harry B., somewhere in the west. The familiar face of Samuel Funk will be greatly missed in Tyrone. He was a man of sunny, genial disposition who knew not how to speak an unkind word. Upright and industrious, he was worthy and respected throughout this section.
