Gable, died very suddenly at the residence of her son, 1121 Fourteenth avenue, at noon yesterday. Two days ago Mrs. Gable was seized with an attack of pneumonia, which shortly, because of her advanced age, took a serious turn. Her death, however, was entirely unexpected. The deceased was in her 72d year, having been born in Chester county February 11, 1825. She was the daughter of John and Elizabeth Wallerton, and was married in the county of her nativity to Isaac Gable during January, 1852. Mrs. Gable resided in this city since March, 1884, at which time she came here and took up her residence with her son, William F. Gable. Beside her aged husband she is survived by one son, William F. Gable, and one daughter, Mrs. Anna, all of whom reside at No. 1121 Fourteenth avenue. One brother, William L. Wallerton, of Philadelphia, is also yet living. The deceased was a member of the Society of Friends, to which her family belonged for seven generations. Her life was characterized by broad benevolence and unobtrusive charity, which made her universally beloved. In her relations to others she was kindly and generous almost to a fault, while in the family circle her life was characterized by that maternal and wifely devotion which is the outcome of perfect love. Her many friends in this city and elsewhere will hear of her sudden demise with keen regret. Funeral services will be held at the late home, 1121 Fourteenth avenue, at 3 o'clock Sunday afternoon. The services will be in charge of Rev. Allan Sheldon Woodle. The interment will be made in Fairview cemetery. Altoona Tribune, Altoona, Pa., Friday, January 1, 1897, page 8 Burial of Mrs. Gable.
