  Miss Mary Ellen Gallagher, formerly of Tyrone, died at Buffalo 
yesterday.  She had submitted to an operation at the Sisters of Charity 
hospital in that city, for tumor, and her death followed soon after the 
ordeal.  Miss Gallagher was the daughter of Cornelius and Alice 
Gallagher, both deceased.  She was born in Tyrone forty-four years ago, 
and most of her life was spent here.  About fifteen years ago she went 
to Buffalo and had resided in that city since that time, with the 
exception of a few years spent in Tyrone at the time of her parents and 
sister's death.  She is survived by but one sister, Miss Annie 
Gallagher, of Tyrone.  The remains arriving in Tyrone today, will be 
conveyed to the home of John B. Foster, 5 West Tenth street, where they 
may be viewed by friends.  The deceased was a devout adherent to the 
Catholic faith and the funeral will take place from St. Matthew's 
church, Rev. P. Bohan officiating.  The hour for the services of 
requiem will likely be 9 o'clock Monday morning.
