GAMBLE CLAIMED BY DEATH Succumbs to Bright's Disease After an Illness of Two Years. Andrew G. Gamble, a well known grocer of this city, died at his home, 1212 Seventh avenue, at 11 last evening of Bright's disease, he having been ailing for the past two years. Mr. Gamble had been bed-fast since the first of the year. Andrew G. Gamble was a son of James and Nancy Gamble, and was born at Milesburg, Center County, February 5, 1843. One year later he moved with his parents to Newton Hamilton, and there he received his early education in the public schools. When a young man he learned the printing trade in Illinois. At the age of 35 years he came to this city and continued his trade, having worked for a short time on the Altoona Tribune. After three years he embarked in the grocery business. For twenty-seven years Mr. Gamble conducted a business at the corner of Seventh avenue and Twelfth street, and at the time of his death had one of the largest grocery stores in the city. When the war of 1861 broke out Mr. Gamble was one of the volunteers, and served in the 194th Regiment, Pennsylvania Volunteers. He was a member of Post 62, Grand Army of the Republic. He was a stockholder and director in the Union Trust company and the Altoona Market Company, and with the aid of his shrewd business ability these organizations have attained their present high standing. He was a member of the Second Presbyterian Church. He is survived by his wife, who was a Miss Westbrook, and these children: Robert L. and Andrew, Jr., at home; also one brother, Hon. John P.
