Garber, 75, of 2 W. 11th St., Tyrone, died Sunday, November 12, 2006 at her residence after a lengthy illness. She was born June 24, 1931 a daughter of John Byron and Audrey Elizabeth (Troxell) Cox. On January 5, 1951 she married Daniel Dean Garber, Sr. She is survived by her husband and a son Daniel D. Garber, Jr. and his wife Nancy of Tyrone. Also, three grandsons: Ronald Garber (Buffy) of Sevierville, Tenn.; Jason Garber (Amy) of Altoona and Chad Garber of Tyrone; five great- grandchildren: Lindsay, Jenna, Brooklin, Devon and Derrick; a brother Joseph Cox of Krotz Springs, Louisiana and sisters Jean Wilson of Tipton and Nancy McEwen (Robert) of Tyrone. She was preceded in death by a brother Calvin Cox and sister Mary Louise Sweitzer. She was a graduate of Tyrone High School in 1949 and a member of the Tyrone Hospital Aux. She loved painting, playing bingo, fishing and playing the organ. She retired as a Nurses Aide at Epworth Manor, Tyrone, after 12 years service. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, November 15, 2006 at 11 a.m. at the Derman Funeral Home, Inc., Tyrone, with Rev. Harry Rickards officiating. Interment at Blair Memorial Park. Friends will be received at the funeral home on Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m. and one hour before the service on Wednesday. The casket will be closed by request of the deceased.
