She was born Aug. 9, 1895, in Shaffersville, Huntingdon County, the daughter of Edward L. and Sarah Ellen (Croft) Garber, and married John S. Garber, who died in May 1973. Surviving are a son, Earl Edward of Altoona; five grandchildren and six [great-]grandchildren. Also surviving are two sisters: Ella Shaffer of Bellwood and Edna Focht of Tipton. Mrs. Garber was a member of the Calvary United Methodist Church, Bellwood, and taught Sunday school in the United Brethren churches for many years. She was also a member of the National Association of Retired Federal Employees and the White Shrine of Jaffa Temple. Friends will be received from 6 to 9 p.m. today and 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at the Mauk & Yates Funeral Home, Juniata. GARBER - Services for Emma V. Garber of Box 21, RD 1, Asbury Lane, will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at Mauk & Yates Funeral Home Inc., Juniata, by Pastor Carl Alexander. Interment at Logan Valley Cemetery, Bellwood.
