Mr. Harry Gardner died on Wednesday evening, after a lingering illness of several months. He had consumption and had been in poor health for a long time, but became bedfast about four or five weeks prior to his death. The deceased had a good military record, having served as a private in the Thirty-second regiment Massachusetts volunteers, for a period of three years. His regiment was attached to the Second brigade of the First division of the Fifth Army corps, and joined the Army of the Potomac at Harrison's Landing immediately after the seven days' battles on the peninsula. Having lost his health towards the latter part of his service, he was assigned to the invalid corps and for a time did duty in this town in the provost guard. The deceased leaves a wife and a family of eleven children, two boys and nine girls, to mourn his death. Mrs. Gardner is a sister of Mr. John H. Law.
