Death of a Telegraph Operator.

News was received Thursday in this city of the death of Mr. John
Gardner, a telegraph operator, who was at one time employed in the
Twelfth street office.  Mr. Gardner had been in poor health for
several years past and last summer went to his home in Canada.  The
change does not appear to have improved his health and he went to New
York where his death occurred about a month ago.  He was about 35
years of age.
