He was born at Bald Eagle Furnace, Oct. 16, 1850, being aged 68 years at his demise. He had been employed by the P.R.R. Co. for over 30 years, but for the past several months had been retired owing to failing health. He was a member of the Railroad veteran association and the P.R.R. relief. He was a man of fine character and was highly esteemed. He is survived by one son, Charles W. Garland of Hollidaysburg; also by one brothers and two sisters, as follows, Joseph G. of Tyrone; Mrs. Elizabeth Wallace of Tyrone; Mrs. Ellen McCauley of Port Matilda. The funeral services will be held at his late home at Reservoir on Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock. Interment will be made in the Lutheran cemetery.
