GARRETTSON Died at 8:40 o'clock last evening at the residence of his son, A. R. Garrettson, 122 Crawford avenue, of diseases incident to old age. He had been ill for over a year, but was only confined to his bed for the past eight weeks. Deceased was born at Snow Hill, Dorchester county, Md., in 1822. He was a painter by trade and had been employed under Foreman Fred Bail for thirty years. He has resided here for a period of thirty-one years. Shortly after coming here, Mrs. Garrettson died. He leaves four children, as follows: William, of New Orleans; C. C., of Manhattan, Kan.; Mrs. Kate Baker and Albert R., both of this city. Mr. Garrettson was a member of the Second Lutheran church and the Pennsylvania Railroad relief. Altoona Mirror, Monday, September 4, 1899, page 8
