He was born in Tyrone, October 22, 1896, and his whole life has been spent here. He was the son of W. Porter Gates, carpenter and contractor. Practically all his life, the deceased followed the trade of carpenter, he having been employed in that capacity at the Paper Mill prior to his last illness. On June 16, 1915, he was united in marriage with Miss Fay Dixon, who survives him. He is also survived by the following brothers and one sister: Chalmers W., now in the United States army; Harry, and Mrs. Gilbert Mitchell, both of Tyrone. Clyde was a young man of pleasing personality, the kind of a young man with whom one was pleased to come in contact, both in a social and business way. Funeral services will be held on Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock in the First Presbyterian church, conducted by Rev. Fasick and Rev. Schafe. Interment in Eastlawn cemetery.
