HATCHED AND SNATCHED.

  -  On the afternoon of last Friday a freight brakeman by the name of 
Adam Geib lost his life at the lower yard.  He was engaged in dropping 
a car down the track, and when he attempted to apply the brake the iron 
bracket holding the brake wheel gave way, causing him to fall on the 
track in front of the moving car which ran over him, severing his body.  
He lived but a few minutes after.  He was 22 years of age and resided 
with his mother two miles from the city.  His remains were interred in 
Fairview cemetery on last Sunday.  The funeral took place from the 
residence of his brother, Mr. John Geib, of this place.
