GEORGE E. GEIST SR.

Of Donnertown, Freedom Twp., died at 8:20 p.m. yesterday in Nason 
Hospital, following a two-year-long illness. He was born in Martinsburg 
on July 24, 1902, a son of Andrew and Annie (Mapes) Geist, and married 
Belva Ott on Jan. 28, 1928, in Cumberland, Md. Surviving are his wife 
and six children, Mrs. Mary Dick of Altoona RD 4, George Jr. and Duane 
of Duncansville RD 2, Kenneth of Altoona, Mrs. Sylvia Henry of East 
Freedom and Richard of Washington, D.C., 28 grandchildren, and four 
great-grandchildren. Also surviving are five brothers and sisters, Mrs. 
Cora Clapper of Altoona, Mrs. Catherine Wagner of Martinsburg, Kenneth 
and Richard of Hollidaysburg RD 2 and Frank of Hollidaysburg. Mr. Geist 
was a member of the Brethren faith and was retired from the R.J. Glass 
Trucking Co., Newry. Friends will be received after 7 p.m. today in the 
Barefoot Funeral Home, East Freedom.
