SAMUEL I. GEIST

Formerly of Martinsburg, died in Ebensburg yesterday at 5 a.m. 
following an extended illness. He was born in Martinsburg July 22, 
1891, a son of Andrew S. and Anna (Mapes) Geist, and was married to 
Mary Covaugh in 1911. Surviving are his wife and four children, Miss 
Helen, Mrs. Eleanor Jacobs and Mrs. Dorothy Deetz, all of Johnstown, 
and Mrs. Barbara Reed of Costa Mesa, Calif.; 10 grandchildren, two 
sisters Mrs. Cora Cliber of Altoona and Mrs. Katherine Wagner of 
Martinsburg, and four brothers, George, Richard and Kenneth, all of 
Hollidaysburg RD, and Frank of Hollidaysburg. He was a member of the 
Church of God and was a Bethlehem Steel employe, having retired in 
1954. Friends will be received at the Miller Funeral Home, Martinsburg, 
after 7 p.m. today.
