Germann, sr., a well known resident of Altoona, was found dead in bed yesterday morning at the home of his son, Emil Germann, on West Walnut street, death occurring about 7 o'clock, likely from heart disease. Mr. Germann went to his son's home on Wednesday and was to all appearances in his usual health upon retiring for the night. The deceased was born in Kirchbrumbach, Lingendamstrade, Germany, on October 7, 1856, being aged 63 years. He came to America in 1878, when a young man, locating at Altoona, where he resided ever since. He was employed at the soft iron foundry of the railroad company at Altoona for twenty-seven years. For the past six months he was engaged in some special work at the Mount Union powder plant, only returning a few days ago. His wife died nineteen years ago. He was a consistent member of the German Lutheran church of Altoona and was well known and held in the highest esteem for his many fine traits. He is survived by two sons, Emil M. Germann, of Hollidaysburg, and John G. Germann, jr., of Eldorado. Public funeral services will be held on Saturday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock, at the home of his son, Emil Germann, on Walnut street.
