An esteemed lifelong resident of Duncansville, Daniel Scott Gibboney, was suddenly called by death at 2:40 Saturday afternoon at his residence on the street which bears his name. Only about a half hour before he died he complained of not feeling well and went upstairs to lie down, thinking he would soon feel better, but quietly passed away before a doctor could reach his side. Heart failure was diagnosed as the cause of his sudden demise. The deceased was the son of Daniel and Sarah Gibboney (deceased) and was born in Duncansville, March 30, 1847, being aged 69 years, 9 months and 27 days. On December 20, 1883, he was united in marriage to Miss Margaret Burns, who survives with two sons, Albert L. at home and Harris, of Altoona, and one daughter, Mrs. Ira J. Keller, of Duncansville. The deceased is also survived by two brothers - Jack, of Duncansville, and Bert, of Kansas City, Kan. - and four sisters, Mrs. Essa Smith, of Wyoming; Mrs. Clarinda Bruner and Misses Ada and Emma, of Cittrella, Ala. Mr. Gibboney spent most of his life on his farm, part of which is within the borough of Duncansville. Several years ago, however, he moved off the farm and retired from active farm duties. In politics he was a Republican and served several terms on the borough school board, and, while of a retiring nature, was always interested in borough affairs. Funeral services will be held at his late residence in Duncansville tomorrow afternoon at 2 o'clock. Interment in Carson Valley cemetery.
