JOHN E. GIBBONEY.

  At his home, 3017 Broad avenue, Mr. John E. Gibboney died at half-
past 6 o'clock Saturday evening after a lingering illness.  He was the 
son of John M. and Margaret Gibboney, both of whom are now dead, and 
was born in Newry, March 4, 1830, and was, therefore, aged 69 years, 4 
months and 11 days.  In 1857 he was married to Miss Matilda A. Vaughn 
who survives him as do also the following children: John M., of 
Seattle, Wash.; Mrs. John Loughran, of Pittsburgh, Pa.; Ella, Gertrude, 
Anna and William, at home.  The following sisters are also living: Mrs. 
D. B. Hicks, of Pittsburg, Pa.,; Mrs. Elmira Daugherty, Mrs. John H. 
Smith and Mrs. C. M. Gates, all of Altoona.  The funeral services will 
be conducted at his late home at 2 o'clock this afternoon and will be 
in charge of Rev. O. C. Roth, pastor of the First Lutheran church.  The 
interment will be made in the Carson Valley cemetery.  Please omit 
flowers.
