Mrs. Mary Gibney, mother of William Gibney, of the city engineer's office, died at the residence of her daughter, Mrs. James J. Gority, Pottsgrove avenue, East End, at 7:10 last evening, of a complication of diseases after an illness of several weeks. Mrs. Gibney was born at Hopewell, Indiana county, March 19, 1838, and was wedded to William Gibney, sr., who died in this city twenty-two years ago. She had resided in Altoona since her marriage and is survived by three sons - John, James and William, all of this city, and the daughter at whose home she expired, Mrs. Stella Gority. Sixteen grandchildren and three great-grandchildren also survive. She was a member of St. Mark's Catholic church, where mass will be said at 9 o'clock Friday morning, followed by burial in St. John's cemetery.
