Gillam Jr., 46, of 802 W. 15th St., Tyrone died Monday, January 15, 2007 at his residence. He was born February 11, 1960 in Tyrone a son of the late James C. Sr. and Mary Agnes (Grieble) Gillam. On September 12, 1987 at St. Marks Catholic Church, Altoona he married Lisa A. Epple. Surviving are his wife, a son James M. a student at Coker College, Hartsville, South Carolina and four sisters, Mary Beth Banks and husband Howard of Bellemeade, Susan Evans of North Versailles, Roberta Woomer and husband Dale of Tyrone and Patrice DelBaggio and husband Michael of Tyrone. He was preceded in death by a sister Kathy and a brother John. Mr. Gillam was owner operator of Ravine Driving Range, Lakemont for the past two years. He was an accomplished golfer and was a golf pro for 26 years. He had served as golf coach for Tyrone Area High School for 15 years. He was an avid bowler and in 1979 competed in the American Bowling Congress Championship in Tampa, Florida. He was a member of St. Matthew Catholic Church and was a 1978 graduate of Tyrone Area High School. Funeral services will be held Friday, January 19, 2007 at 11 a.m. at Feller Memorial Home with Fr. Joseph T. Orr officiating. Interment will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery. Friends will be received at the funeral home on Thursday from 6 to 9 p.m. and on Friday from 10 a.m. until the time of services. Christian Wake services will be held at the funeral home on Thursday at 8:30 p.m. Memorial gifts may be made to the Jim Gillam Memorial Golf Fund, c/o Tyrone Area High School Athletic Office, 710 Clay Ave., Tyrone, Pa. 16686.
