All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/pa/blair/ _________________________________________ LEE ROY GINTER Died Suddenly Today of Heart Attack Lee Roy Gunter, well known Pennsylvania railroad crossing watchman at Twelfth street, died suddenly at his home, 11 East Twelfth street, this morning at seven o'clock. Mr. Ginter had been complaining the past few days of his heart and had been off duty. Yesterday afternoon he went to Altoona to consult a specialist and to make arrangements for an X-ray examination. He arrived again in Tyrone during the early evening hours and went directly to his home. He got up this morning about six o'clock and was sitting in the kitchen talking to his brother-in-law, when he suddenly expired. Lee Roy Gunter was a son of Abram and Amanda Snyder Gunter. He was born in Canoe Creek Valley, Blair County, on March 19, 1894. On July 24, 1915, at Tyrone, he was united in marriage with Miss Lillian Stimer. Rev. E. G. Sawyer performed the ceremony. Mrs. Gunter, one son, Leo and these brothers and sisters survive to mourn his death: George Gunter, Altoona; Frank Ginter, Blair Four; Mrs. John Thompson of Tyrone and Mrs. Sue Daugherty, Harrisburg. Mr. Gunter was a member of the United Brethren church, the Loyal Order of Moose, the Neptune Fire company and the Pennsylvania Railroad Relief association. Mr. Gunter was a splendid young man in every way and had many friends who will be sorry to learn of his sudden death. Funeral services will be conducted at the home on Sunday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock, by Rev. Elmer F. Ilgenfritz. Interment at Black Oak cemetery, Port Matilda.
