At 1.45 o'clock yesterday afternoon Mr. Charles E. Gipe, died at the residence of his parents, 215 Lexington avenue, aged 20 years. In January last the deceased was injured by a hammer falling on his head while he was working in putting up a signal tower near Pittsburgh and from the effects of which he never recovered. He was the son of J. F. and Mary Gipe and besides his parents leaves one brother - Francis - and four sisters - Annie, Magge [sic], Alice and Stella - to mourn their loss. He was a consistent member of St. Mark's Catholic church. His funeral will take place on Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock. Services will be held in St. Mary's church and the interment will be made in St. Mary's cemetery. Morning Tribune, Altoona, Pa., Saturday, November 8, 1890
