Mrs. Louisa Givler died of dysentery, at her home, on Sixteenth street, at 11:05 o'clock, on Saturday morning. The deceased, whose maiden name was Louisa A. McMurtrie, was born at Huntingdon, Pa., May 6, 1836, and at death was aged 63 years, 4 months and 24 days. She was married to Louis J. Givler, June 27, 1854. Her husband died in this place, June 27, 1883. Mrs. Givler was a widow pensioner of the United States, her husband having served in the Civil war. While in health she was an active member and energetic worker in the Second Methodist church and its auxiliary branches; a devoted and loving mother, an excellent neighbor, and a Christian woman with all that the word implies. She is survived by three sons and two daughters, viz: George, Edward and Hugh Givler, Mrs. Samuel Myers and Mrs. Fannie Seibert, all of Tyrone. She is also survived by two sisters and one brother - Mrs. Samuel Barr, of Renovo; Mrs. Ellen McCoy, of Albany, N.Y., and Marshall McMurtrie, of Bellefonte. Funeral services were held in the Second Methodist church this afternoon at 3 o'clock, conducted by Rev. J. W. Deavor, Ph.D. The interment was made in Tyrone cemetery.
