HERMAN EDWARD GLASS

Of 1806 Thirteenth street, died at 6 o'clock yesterday morning at the 
Altoona hospital after an extended illness. He was born in Altoona Jan. 
17, 1887, a son of Louis H. and Alice (Walters) Glass, and on April 12, 
1905, married Miss Elsie Wilkins. Surviving are his widow, a son Donald 
E. of Hollidaysburg; one daughter, Miss Hazel at home, one grandson, 
and these brothers and sisters:  Louis H. jr., Daniel, Hasler and Mrs. 
A. E. Wolf of Altoona, Mrs. Iva Jones of Clearwater, Fla., Mrs. Mabel 
Stevens of Cooperstown, N.Y., Mrs. Alma Baldwin of San Gabriel, Calif., 
and Mrs. Alice Olson of Philadelphia. Mr. Glass was a former Middle 
division engineer, retiring Feb. 1, 1953, after 49 years of service. He 
was a member of Fairview Methodist church, and the B. of L. F. & E. 
Friends are being received at the Axe funeral home after 7 o'clock this 
evening.
