All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/pa/blair/ _________________________________________ Henry Glunt, Whose death at Cape Charles, Va., was briefly referred to in yesterday's Mirror, resided at 2422 Broad avenue. He had been in failing health for several years and five weeks ago went to Cape Charles to visit his sons and daughter there in the hope that his health might be improved. Deceased was born in Blair county on June 28, 1838, and had lived all his life in this vicinity. He was for a number of years a contractor in this city and built the ***** [first?] house on Broad east of Twenty-sixth street. On account of his failing health he retired several years ago from active business, but was associated with his son-in-law in the lumber business, being interested in the Kittanning Point Lumber company. He was a veteran of the civil war, having enlisted and served nine months in the Twelfth Pennsylvania cavalry. He was a member of the First Baptist church and is survived by his wife and the following children: Mrs. D. D. Miller of Reese's Station, Miss Alice L., R. R. and J. E. of Cape Charles, Mrs. Charles Davis of Altoona, * Howard, A. L., Margaret M. and Helen R., all at home. He is also survived by these brothers, John L., Joseph, W. C. and G. A. Glunt of Altoona and J. B. Glunt of Texas. The remains arrived here this afternoon and were taken to his late home.
