On Monday last David Gochnour, a brother of J. A. and W. H. Gochnour, of this city, and Mrs. Ann Kegarise, of Pittsburg, died at the National Soldiers' Home at Dayton, O., aged 64 years. Deceased was a soldier during the civil war and his record is an honorable one. At the first call for troops he enlisted from Johnstown in the Third regiment, Pennsylvania volunteers. Afterward he re-enlisted in the Fifty-fourth Pennsylvania regiment and again as a veteran, serving until the close of the war. He lived both in Altoona and Johnstown, being for a time while here an employe in the brass department, Pennsylvania railroad shops. He was unmarried.
