Howard Good, former Logan township road supervisor, died at the Mercy hospital this morning at 7.40 o'clock. Death resulted from complications following a fracture of the hip suffered on Dec. 2 at the home of a daughter, Mrs. J. A. Brumbaugh of 2631 Union avenue, with whom she was residing. She was born in Newry on March 31, 1859, a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James Stiffler, the former serving one term as sheriff of Blair county. She was united in married at Hollidaysburg, March 3, 1880 to W. Howard Good who died in 1939, and resided in Good's lane, near Eldorado, until shortly after her husband's death. She is survived by four daughters and five sons as follows: Mrs. C. E. Gaines, Mrs. J. A. Brumbaugh, Mrs. P. E. Hargreaves, Mrs. J. F. Brantlinger, S. P. Good and J. M. Good, all of Altoona; Frank H. Good of Williamsburg, and Fred A. Good and Russell G. Good of Eldorado; and one sister, Mrs. Albert Shew of Eldorado. A number of grandchildren and great-grandchildren also survive. Mrs. Good was a lifelong member of the Zion Lutheran church of Hollidaysburg. GOOD - Funeral services for Mrs. Lavina (Stiffler) Good of 2631 Union avenue, will be conducted Sunday afternoon at 2.30 o'clock at the Lafferty funeral home in charge of Rev. Ernest Bauer, Zion Lutheran church, Hollidaysburg. Interment in Alto-Reste burial park. Friends may call at the Lafferty funeral home after 7 o'clock this evening. Altoona Mirror, December 14, 1944
