Mrs. Catharine Goodman, mother-in-law of Mr. W. H. Carothers, master mechanic at the Pennsylvania railroad company's shops at Tyrone. Also mother of George and Frank Goodman, of Altoona, and mother-in-law of Joseph Nixon, foreman boiler shops, Altoona, and Mr. Doke, boilermaker at the same place, after suffering for some time from dyspepsia, disease of the stomach, and general exhaustion, passed away peacefully at noon yesterday, the 17th inst., at the residence of her son-in-law. The deceased was born at Lancaster, in the month of April, 1806, and therefore died at the ripe age of 75 years and some days. She had been a consistent member of the Lutheran church for years, to which faith she yet adhered at the time of her death. Interment will be made at Lancaster, the place of her birth, on Thursday, services to be held Wednesday afternoon at the residence of Mr. Carothers.
