GORRITY, A well-known young man of this city, died at the Rush hospital, Philadelphia, this morning at 4.25, of bronchial trouble, supplemented by heart disease. The deceased had been a sufferer from bronchial trouble during the past year and about four months ago was taken to Philadelphia for treatment. His condition was not considered serious until a few days ago, when heart trouble developed which, combined with the other ailment, caused his death. His father, John Gorrity, a foreman in the Juniata shops, and his mother were at his bedside when the end came. The decedent was born in this city May 11, 1886. He was a graduate of the parochial schools connected with St. John's parish and later entered the Altoona high school, leaving that institution before graduating to serve his apprenticeship as a machinist in the Juniata shops, under his father. He was a member of St. John's church. Besides his parents he is survived by the following brothers an sisters: H. E. Gorrity, Beatrice Gorrity, a teacher in the Miller school building; Naomi and Dorothy, all at home. The remains will be brought to Altoona this evening on train No. 21 and will be taken to the home of the parents, 1203 Seventeenth street, from which place the funeral will be held at an hour to be announced. Gorrity will take place Friday morning, the cortege leaving the house at 8:30 and requiem mass being celebrated in St. John's Catholic church. Interment in Calvary cemetery.
