On Friday morning last Mrs. Elizabeth Gority died at her home No. 2500 West Chestnut avenue, after a long and painful illness and during the latter months of which she was confined to her bed. Death was the result of cancer of the stomach. Mrs. Gority was a native of Ireland, having been born there in 1833. She came to this country in 1853. Her husband died in 1881 and the only near relatives now living is a daughter Miss Maggie Gority and a sister, Mrs. Malone, of Dudley, Huntingdon county. During her long illness she was tenderly cared for by her loving daughter and all that could possibly tend to alleviate her suffering was done. Mrs. Gority was a member of St. John's Catholic church, an estimable lady, a devoted wife, an affectionate mother. Morning Tribune, Altoona, Pa., March 25, 1886
