Ludwig Graf died at 10.45 o'clock last night at his residence, 111 Lexington avenue, of paralysis. He was stricken with the disease first December 21, 1892, and since that time he had been a complete invalid. The deceased was born May 10, 1824, in Switzerland and came to America when about 30 years of age, locating first in Philadelphia. He was employed in that city by the Baldwin locomotive works as machinist for some time and came to Altoona in 1864, entering the employ of the Pennsylvania Railroad company under Foreman Keiler. In 1871 he was transferred to the car shops, where he worked until stricken with paralysis on the date above mentioned. Mr. Graf was married about forty-four years ago to Miss Elizabeth Schwab, who preceded him to the grave sixteen years ago. The following children survive: David L., Mrs. Cloyd W. Kerlin and Mrs. W. E. McKee. One brother, Abraham, resides in Philadelphia, and one sister, Mrs. Von Thenen, of Conshocken, also survive, as well as one brother, Andrew, who resides in this city. Several brothers are yet living in Switzerland. The deceased was a member of St. James Lutheran church. Funeral arrangements will be announced later.
