Grathwohl, aged 27, private in company A, 307th motor repair unit at Camp Holabird, Baltimore, Md., died of pneumonia at the camp hospital at Fort McHenry on Tuesday night at 10.30 o'clock, the remains arriving in Altoona yesterday morning and taken to the funeral parlors of N. A. Stevens. The body was accompanied to Altoona by Private S. A. Van Busen of the 307th motor corps, the soldier acting as the military escort to the remains en route to this city. Grathwohl, who was a son of Mr. and Mrs. Max Grathwohl, died Tuesday night after a brief illness of pneumonia, which followed an attack of influenza. News of the illness was received Tuesday by telegram from Commander Prunnell of the camp and members of the family in this city left at that time for the beside. Charles M. Grathwohl was born on Feb. 26, 1891, the son of Max and Josephine Grathwohl of 529 Bell avenue and he entered the service on July 15, with a contingent from the East Side draft board, being trained as a motor mechanic at the University of Pittsburgh training camp. He left for the eastern camp some weeks ago. Before enlisting he was employed as a tinner by the Pennsy. He was a member of St. Mark's Catholic church. Surviving are the parents and two sisters, Miss Hettie of Pittsburgh and Miss Anna at home. Altoona Times, Friday Morning, October 4, 1918 FUNERAL NOTICES. The funeral of Charles M.
