MINISTER, PASSES AWAY A telegram to the Times, from Mrs. Rev. Charles Griffin, of Glenhope, last night brought the news of the death of her husband, Rev. Charles Griffin at that place on Wednesday afternoon. The telegram brought no other information except that he was aged 65 years, and that funeral announcements would be made later. Rev. Griffin was a minister of the Methodist Episcopal church and was well known in this city, having been connected with the Fifth Avenue church in this city at one time, and with the Methodist church at Eldorado. In 1914 he was assigned to the Frankstown charge, which he held for four years, being transferred to the Glenhope charge at the last general conference. While at Frankstown, Rev. Griffin filled the pulpits of the four churches on the charge, Canoe Creek, Frankstown, McKee and Claysburg. It was during his pastorate on this charge, that the new church was erected at Claysburg, and he left the charge in the most flourishing condition that it has been in for many years. By birth, he was an Englishman, from where he came to America, spending some time in Canada, where he was married, in Toronto. He was not a great pulpit orator but was a good pastor and was much devoted to his work and spent his entire time ministering to his people. The cause of death was not stated in the message.
