Gromiller, proprietor of the United States hotel, Hollidaysburg, last evening received word from Phoenix, Arizona, that his brother, Edward A. Gromiller had died in that city yesterday. Mr. Gromiller suffered from an attack of pleurisy last winter, and his health was left impaired. Treatment at home did not afford the relief desired, and several months ago, he went to Mt. Clemens, Mich. Not being benefited by the treatment there, he went to Phoenix two weeks ago, where he gradually grew weaker until his death. Deceased was a son of Englebert and Catharine Gromiller, deceased, and was born at Hollidaysburg, May 31, 1873. He spent several years at Mt. Vernon, N.Y., where he was engaged in the baking business, but with the exception of that time, had always resided in Hollidaysburg, being for some years past assistant to his brother in conducting the United States hotel. He was of a lovable and companionable disposition and endeared himself to a wide circle of friends, and many there will be who will miss his kindly face and many acts of kindness and charity which he was wont to share with neighbors and friends. He is survived by one sister and two brothers: Mary, James W. and Engelbert G., all of Hollidaysburg. He was one of the incorporators of Greenlawn cemetery, Hollidaysburg, and served in the capacity of secretary. He became a member of St. Michael's Roman Catholic church, in childhood, and was faithful member. He was a member of Altoona lodge No. 102, B.P.O.E., of this city. Requiem high mass will be celebrated at St. Michael's church, but the time of the funeral cannot be announced until the arrival of the body; interment in Greenlawn cemetery.
