Grove, 620 Washington Ave., died Tuesday [June 28, 1960] at 8:45 p.m. at his home after a long illness. He was born April 6, 1881 at Marklesburg, the son of Jacob A. and Laura Beaver Grove. He was married to Mina McClincy. He had resided in Tyrone since 1900. Surviving are the widow and the following children: Francis E., of Tipton; Mrs. Margaret I. Johnson, East Hartford, Conn.; Mrs. Marian Sidman, Rochester, N.Y.; Jacob A., Jr., Meadville; Thomas E. Grove, Columbus, Ohio; Robert H. Grove, Florence, Ala.; and Mrs. Paul Marzana, Rochester, N.Y.; also a sister, Mrs. Hamilton Reynolds, Huntingdon; 14 grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. He was a member of the First Evangelical United Brethren Church, Tyrone; the Blazing Arrow Hook & Ladder Fire Co. He was widely-known as a musician. He was a clerk for the Pennsylvania Railroad Co., retiring in 1939 after 31 years of service. Funeral service will be Friday at 4 p.m. at the Johnson Funeral Home in charge of the Rev. J. Byron Bishop. Burial will be in Blair Memorial Park. Friends are being received at the Johnson Funeral Home. Funeral Card Obituary.
