Russell C. Gunsallus of 1403 Cameron avenue, Tyrone, who was killed in action in Italy Jan. 30, 1944, was returned to Tyrone last evening for burial. Friends will be received at the Glass funeral home, Tyrone, this evening from 7 to 10 o'clock. Pvt. Gunsallus was a member of company C, 3rd regiment, 7th infantry, 3rd division. He enlisted May 10, 1943. He was born Sept. 22, 1924, in Northwood, Tyrone, a son of Walter and Mary E. (Rowley) Gunsallus. Surviving are his mother, two brothers and four sisters, Harris or Canoe Creek, Elmer at home, Mrs. Russell Powley of Hensheytown, Mrs. James Updike of Northwood, Mrs. Fred Bradford of Tipton and Mrs. Chester Stonebraker of Tyrone. Pvt. Gunsallus was a member of the First United Brethren church, Tyrone. Full military honors will be accorded Pvt. Gunsallus by the American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars. Services will be held in the Evangelical United Brethren church, Tyrone, tomorrow afternoon at 2 o'clock in charge of Rev. Budd Smith. Interment will be made in the Eastlawn cemetery.
