All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/pa/blair/ ABRAHAM STEWART GUNTER Died at his home in Tyrone Saturday morning at 12:10 o'clock of paralysis, superinduced by a clot of blood on the brain. Mr. Gunter was born in Maryland, July 5, 1838, and at the time of his death was aged 69 years 8 months and 9 days. He was a veteran of the Civil War, having served faithfully throughout the war in Company C Twentieth Pennsylvania cavalry and was a member of Post 62, Grand Army of the Republic of Altoona. He is survived by his wife and the following children: George, of Hollidaysburg; Charles, of Tyrone; Mrs. Ida Gunsallus and Frank of Roaring Spring; Mrs. Martha Hamaker and Mrs. Mary Klepther of Altoona; Susan, Martha, Elmer and William at home. The funeral was held this afternoon at 2 o'clock, services at the late home on Lanners Street by Rev. Clarence E. Taylor, pastor of the First Baptist church. Internment in Tyrone cemetery.
