MARY E. GUREKOVICH  
 
  Mary Elizabeth Gurekovich, Sinking Valley, RD 1, Tyrone, died in 
Hollidaysburg State Hospital yesterday at 8:15 p.m. after a lengthy 
illness and five days' hospitalization.  
  She was born March 21, 1916, at Philipsburg, the daughter of Felix 
and Mary Januse.  On April 3, 1937, at Tyrone, she married Ambrose 
Gurekovich.  She resided in Tyrone 22 years.
  Surviving are the husband, father, and two children, Joseph and Mary 
Ann, both at home, and the following brothers and sisters: 
  Anthony and William, of Warren; Frederick, of Cleveland; Mrs. Stella 
Gurekovich, Tyrone RD 1, Mrs. Margaret Swartz, Philipsburg, and Miss 
Sophie Januse, Warren.
  She was a member of the St. Matthew Roman Catholic Church.  Funeral 
services will be held Saturday at 10 a.m. at St. Matthew church, in 
charge of Msgr. Patrick D. Harkins.  Burial will be in Oak Grove 
Cemetery.  Recitation of the rosary will be held Friday at 8 p.m. at 
the Johnson Funeral home.  Friends will be received after 7 p.m. today 
at the Johnson Funeral home.
