At the family residence, 823 Fifth avenue, at 5.45 o'clock yesterday evening, Catharine, wife of Manuel F. Gutierrez, died of Bright's disease after an illness of seven weeks. Mrs. Gutierrez, whose maiden name was Barnacle, was aged 55 years, 11 months and 15 days, having been born near Chest Springs, Cambria county, March 27, 1844. She was married in this city about twenty-seven years ago in St. John's Catholic church by Father (afterward Bishop) Tuigg. Her husband, three daughters and one son survive, the latter being Mrs. Harry Sutton, Misses Annie and Flora and Salvino Gutierrez, all of this city. She also leaves one brother, Demetrius, who resides in the west. She was a devout member of St. Mark's Catholic church, a good wife and a loving mother. The funeral will take place Thursday morning, leaving the family residence at 8.30 o'clock and proceeding to St. Mark's church where services will be held.
