At the home of Mrs. Sue Rhodes, where he boarded, yesterday morning at 4.45 o'clock, George Gutshall died of chronic diarrhea?, after an illness of more than a year. He was born in Shippensburg in March 1841, and has resided in Altoona most of the time for the last 20 years. During the war of the rebellion he served for one year as a private of Company G, Two Hundred and Second Pennsylvania Volunteers. He was employed by the Pennsylvania Railroad company as a sweeper for five years, and was engaged in various other occupations. In 1896 he went to the Dayton Soldiers' home, but after being in the home for five months he came to Altoona again and never afterwards left the city. The deceased is survived by one son, William, of Shippensburg, and three brothers, James and William of Altoona, and Daniel of Shippensburg. Mr. Gutshall was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran church, Millville. The funeral will take place to-morrow afternoon at 2 o'clock. Services will be conducted at the house by Rev. E. J.
