She died June 17, 1911, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Fannie Mock. Her maiden name was Zimmerman and she was a sister of Samuel and Lewis Zimmerman, deceased, for many years leading coach-builders of the Cove. While she was yet young her parents moved to the Cove occupying the farm now occupied by Himes Amick, near Waterside. In the early forties she married Henry Guyer, who preceded her to the grave 25 years, since which time she has lived with her children. She was the mother of 9 children, two infants, Lincoln and Samuel, having preceded her to the spirit world. She is survived by the following: David of Erie, Kansas; Jacob Z. of Waterside; Mrs. Fanny Mock of Woodbury; Mrs. D. N. Furry of Roaring Spring; and Lewis located somewhere in the west. Also by 22 grandchildren and about 30 great grandchildren. She was a devoted member of the Church of the Brethren and for many years lived an exemplary Christian life devoted largely to ministering to the wants of others less fortunate than she. Her declining years brought to her much suffering and the last twenty months were spent in bed, mostly in agony, from which death came as a sweet release and a final summons from her life of four score and six years. The funeral services were held at New Enterprise, Monday, June 19, conducted by Elder L. F. Holsinger. Interment was made in the cemetery at that place. Grandmother Guyer was carried to her last resting place by six of her grandsons, J. Edgar, Samuel S., George and William of Altoona; Howard of Loysburg and H. M. Guyer of Waterside.
