GWIN Harry Clay Gwin, 83, of 922 Twenty-second avenue, retired civil engineer and real estate broker died at his home yesterday afternoon. Born on the farm, now the site of the Altoona center of Pennsylvania State college, Mr. Gwin and E. Raymond Smith earlier developed and operated Ivyside park there. He was born April 1, 1879, a son of Alexander and Matilda (Berry) Gwin, and was a lifelong resident of the city area. He and Mrs. Gwin, the former Mary P. Eichelberger, celebrated their golden wedding anniversary Sept. 3, 1952. Mr. Gwin was a lifelong member of the First Presbyterian church, the Masons, the Altoona Real Estate board and the Johnstown chapter, Professional Engineers and Land Surveyors. He engaged in engineering from 1904 to 1920 and the entered the real estate firm of Fay and Gwin, retiring four years ago. Surviving are his wife, on daughter and three sons, Mrs. Mildred Engart of Lebanon, Lewis L. Gwin, city engineer, Robert S. Gwin of Ardmore and Harry Jr., of Norristown and five grandchildren.
