SARAH GWIN, Relict of Alexander Gwin, died of paralysis at 11 o'clock yesterday morning at her home at Gwin station on the Wopsononock railroad, aged 90 years, 3 months and 18 days. Several months ago she fell and broke a limb and she has since suffered two strokes of paralysis. This combination of misfortunes resulted in her death. The deceased was born in Shaver's Creek valley, Huntingdon county. Her maiden name was Hallman. She has three sisters living - Mrs. Andrew Mattern of Huntingdon, Ind.; Mrs. Lydia Nelson of Mercer county, and Mrs. Jane Laird of Alexandria. Her first husband was Jacob Kough, and by this union three children were born, one of whom, Mrs. Elizabeth Reese, of Frankstown, survives. Her second husband, Alexander Gwin, died April 6, 1856. To this union six children were born, three of whom are still living. These are: Major Geo. H. Gwin of this city, Maxwell Gwin, residing on the farm, and J. H. Gwin of this city. Mrs. Gwin was a faithful and devoted member of the Presbyterian church, being a member of the First church, this city, since 1855. Faithful to her trust she died in the full hope of an immortal life. Funeral services will be conducted on Monday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock by Rev. J. W. Bain; interment in Maurier's [sic] cemetery, near the residence.
