Ellen P., beloved wife of George H. Gwinn, of 810 Howard avenue, died at half-past 9 o'clock on Saturday morning. She had been in failing health for months past and, despite the fact that careful nursing and the best medical skill were brought to bear on the case, all efforts to restore her health proved futile, and her death resulted from a complication of diseases at the time above given. She was about 45 years of age and, beside her husband, is survived by five brothers - John, Robert and William, of Antis township; Wilson, of Logan township, and Blair, of Allegheny township, - and three sisters - Mrs. John A. Sprankle, Mrs. Allan McCartney and Mrs. Mary Nelson, all of this city. She was a consistent member of the First Presbyterian church and had been an active worker for many years. The funeral services will be conducted at the late residence at 2 o'clock this afternoon by Rev. J. W. Bain. At the conclusion of the services the funeral cortege will proceed to Fairview cemetery, where the interment will be made. Morning Tribune, Altoona, Pa., Monday, February 9, 1891
