MAUDE VIOLA HAAS

Of 221 23rd Ave., died at 5 p.m. yesterday in Mercy Hospital, where she 
was admitted in the morning, following a brief illness. She was born 
Dec. 9, 1897, in Altoona, the daughter of William H. and Jennie 
(Stiffler) Hanley, and married John C. Haas, who died Nov. 4, 1960. 
Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Lillian Bell of Lansdowne and Mrs. 
Mary E. McManamy of Altoona; five grandchildren and eight great-
grandchildren. Mrs. Haas was a member of the Fourth Lutheran Church. 
Friends will be received in the Hickey Funeral Home from 2 to 4 and 7 
to 9 p.m. Friday.
