Hagerty, 73, of RD4, Tyrone, died Wednesday, June 6, 2007 at 1:30 a.m. at his residence. He was born July 13, 1933 in Altoona, a son of John W. and Helen Margaret (O'Neill) Hagerty. He was twice married, first to Patricia A. Newkirk on February 28, 1961 in Altoona. She died November 10, 1995. He then was married to Lola E. (Schandelmeier) Eaken on September 12, 2002 in Altoona. Surviving is his wife; a daughter, Becky Jo Wolfe and husband Jay of Delevan, New York; a son, John W. Hagerty of West Valley, New York; three granddaughters: Anne, Katherine and Ashley Wolfe; four great- granddaughters: Gabrielle, Liberty, Aurora and Ariel; a brother, Charles Hagerty and wife Beverly of Greenwood; five stepchildren: William R. Eaken Jr. of Holton, Michigan, David W. Eaken of Tyrone, Jack L. Eaken of Hollidaysburg, Juanita M. Illig of Bald Eagle and Brenda S. Imler of Altoona; 22 step-grandchildren and 23 step-great- grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother, Chester. Mr. Hagerty retired in 1982 from Ford Motor Company, Buffalo, NY as a highlift operator following 30 years service. He was of the Methodist faith, a member of the Altoona Rifle Club and the Bald Eagle Fire Company. He was a US Marine Corp Veteran of the Korean War, serving as a sergeant and was an ammunition truck driver and sharp shooter. Funeral services will be held Friday, June 8 at 11 a.m. at Feller Memorial Home. Friends will be received at the funeral home on Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m. and on Friday from 10 a.m. until the time of service. Interment will be at Alto Reste Park. Memorial gifts may be made to Home Nursing Agency, 201 Chestnut Avenue, Altoona, Pa. or to the American Cancer Society. Tyrone Daily Herald, June 6, 2007
