DIED - At the residence of his mother, in Antes township, on the 14th 
of January last, DR. JOHN S. HAGERTY, aged 23 years, 6 months and 24 
days. He was a promising young man, and bid fair to become an ornament 
to, and useful member of society. He had just finished his medical 
studies, with much expense and labor, and no doubt was anticipating a 
long life of usefulness and pleasure in his world. But alas/ how 
delusive do the most flattering prospects often prove/-how transitory 
is worldly happiness/- even the young are called away in their 
brightest moments/ But we have evidence that the deceased has gone to 
enjoy that bliss which is in reserve for the humble believer.
