Halfpenny of 410 Eighth avenue, Juniata, died at 8:30 o'clock this morning at the family home, after a week's illness suffering from a complication of diseases. She was born on Sept. 25, 1863, at Swengel, Union county, a daughter of Daniel and Margaret (Hanck) Knauss. Her husband died in 1921. Surviving are five children, including William R. Halfpenny of Juniata, Robert L. Halfpenny of Meyersdale, Mrs. George Diefenbach of Williamsport and Misses Nell and Anna Halfpenny, both at home. One brother, Charles Knauss of Swengel, and four grandchildren also survive. Mrs. Halfpenny was a member of the First Methodist church of Juniata for many years and was affiliated with the Emanuel Bible class. Friends will be received at the home after noon Thursday.
