ANNA HALLER [photo] Brief Illness Fatal to Wife of Bakery Head Mrs. Anna Haller, aged 75, wife of John Haller, sr., of Upper Brush Mountain road, Hollidaysburg, proprietor of the Haller Eagle bakery, died unexpectedly at 8 o'clock last evening in Mercy hospital where she had been admitted yesterday morning. Mrs. Haller had been in apparent good health, but suffered a stroke about 8 o'clock yesterday morning at her home, being removed to the hospital by ambulance. A resident of Altoona for the past 56 years, Mrs. Haller was born in Germany Oct. 17, 1872, a daughter of Christian and Ursala (Hauser) Weiss, coming to Altoona with her parents as a girl. She and Mr. Haller were married Oct. 3, 1893, in St. James Lutheran church by Rev. John Miller. Mr. and Mrs. Haller celebrated their golden wedding anniversary in 1943. They resided in Altoona until moving to their home near Hollidaysburg some 23 years ago. Mrs. Haller has been a member of St. James Lutheran church since 1891, was president of the Ladies' Aid society of the church and a member of Jobel court, Order of Eastern Star. Surviving are her husband, three sons, John, jr., William H. and Fred Haller, all of the city; two grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, one brother and one sister, Christian Weiss and Mrs. Sally Weiss, both of the city. Friends will be received at the N. A. Stevens mortuary from 7 o'clock this evening until 1 o'clock Saturday afternoon and thereafter at St. James Lutheran church.
