At 3.25 o'clock yesterday afternoon Mrs. Margaret D. Hamilton died at her home, 913 Sixth avenue, of dropsy. She had been ailing for several months and had been bed-fast nine weeks. She was born at Louden, Franklin county, pa., May 4, 1829, and at the time of her death was aged 70 years, 5 months and 25 days. The deceased was one of the charter members of the Eighth Avenue Methodist Episcopal church. She left a bright evidence behind her that God was her friend in her affliction and a great comforter in death. She was married to William Hamilton, March 19, 1846, he preceding her to the grave May 11, 1898. She had resided in this city a number of years. She is survived by these children, Mrs. Catherine D. Anderson, Mrs. Samuel Donathen, Mrs. Samuel Hutchison, Stansberry, Elmer E., Charles M. and Miss Etta, all of this city; also one brother, John D. Zeek, of Birmingham. The funeral will be conducted at her late home at 2.30 o'clock Wednesday afternoon by her pastor, Rev. T. S. Wilcox, assisted by Rev. W. McK. Reiley. Interment in Fairview Cemetery.
